Port Harbor GP40-2 No. 8955 was originally built in January 1967 as Milwaukee Road No. 162. It was transferred to Soo Line in 1986 as No. 2035, and later became Canadian Pacific No. 4615. It was renumbered 8955 and repainted in fall 2015, one of two ex-MILW GP40s on the roster. Based in Granite City, Ill., the Port Harbor Railroad is a subsidiary of Respondek Railroad Corp. and serves a mixed-use industrial area north of St. Louis known as “America’s Central Port” and interchanges with the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis.

Three Lake State Railway SD40-2s that were on long-term lease to CSX are being returned. Units No. 3095, 3067, and 3074, were dead in tow behind the road power of CSX train R322-18, seen here about to back into their train at Stanley Yard in Toledo, Ohio, on January 18. The next morning the trio was interchanged to LSRC in Flint, Mich. The units will be renumbered 6503- 6505 before entering regular service on LSRC.
