Nippon moves up Tours’ shaſt charts N

ippon Shaſt’s popularity grew in 2015 with 106 players on the PGA and European Tours

utilising the Japanese manufacturer’s shaſts. That equates to a 66 percent increase over the previous year when 70 major Tour pros relied on Nippon Shaſt, and a 120 percent jump over 2013 when the number was 48. Hiro Fukuda, Nippon Shaſt’s global head of sales and marketing, said:

“Nippon Shaſt made a strategic decision a number of years ago to design and manufacture shaſts for players at the highest level and we are pleased to be making significant progress in that area. “We will redouble our efforts this coming season to make sure the world’s top players understand how the outstanding quality of Nippon

Shaſt products can improve their games.” The iron shaſt models used by golf's

elite players were the N.S. PRO 950GH, the N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 130, N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120, N.S. PRO MODUS3 TOUR 105 shaſt, and N.S. PRO MODUS3 PROTOTYPE ORA, all made in the same factory in Komagane, Yokohama, Japan.

In addition, more than 70 Tour players used Nippon Shaſt N.S. PRO

MODUS3 WEDGE shaſts, which were launched last March. Nippon Shaſt graphite and steel products are available, either as stock

or custom shaſts, through a dedicated global club fitter network. www.nipponshaſt.com

Quick on the draw with Pistol GT S

uperStroke has added the Pistol GT model to its two established putter grips – the Legacy and FLATSO. Incorporating the brand’s Counter Core Technology, the Pistol GT is the smallest grip in the

SuperStroke range and is designed to give golfers using a conventional grip a controlled putting stroke. Players can easily install an optional 50g back-weight through a threaded cap design to fine-tune feel and balance. In addition, the patented No-Taper design helps to promote even pressure on the grip. “Counter Core Technology and the No-Taper design combine perfectly in the Pistol GT model, as the

extra weight helps to engage larger muscles that produce a more consistent stroke while achieving an optimum grip pressure,” says Brand Fusion UK sales manager Tony Fletcher. “We expect big things from the Pistol GT this year.” Both the Legacy and FLATSO series have been upgraded with Counter Core Technology and are

available in new graphics. Meanwhile, the three FLATSO models feature a pentagonal profile to help distribute grip pressure and the Legacy series now offers Mid Slim, Slim and Fatso options. The Counter Core Technology grips have an RRP of £37.99 and are available from next month. SuperStroke has also unveiled S-Tech club grips with a soſt, tacky, premium rubber compound. They

also feature the brand’s Cross-Traction surface texture for increased control in all weather conditions. Available in black, blue and grey, plus size options of standard (52g) or midsize (62g), the S-Tech club grip has an RRP of £8.99.
