Hearst Passenger Service Update
Algoma passenger train service between Sault Ste. Marie and Hearst, Ont., continued to languish in late October and into November 2015. High Winds Derail Empty BNSF Coal Train in Abo Canyon
BNSF empty aluminum gon unit coal train lost 19 cars off Trestle No. 1 in Abo Canyon on November 27, 2015, due to hurricane force winds blowing from the east. The two front power units and six cars made it across the trestle before the blow-off occurred. BNSF crews cleaned up the fallen cars and had the line reopened the following day. The westbound main across the new trestle No. 1 was unaffected.
