D

elta Security, the CCTV and access control specialists, has extended its 18-year partnership with the Stoke Newington-based Sir Thomas Abney Primary School, to deliver the latest wireless-based ‘ring of steel’ to protect pupils, visitors and staff.

Installed are a Salto wireless electronic locking system that requires a keycard ID pass that automatically synchronises with the locks to allow or restrict access; and EntrySign, an easy-to-use touch-screen interface with the ability to pre-register guests.

Coral Wasylenczuk, School Business Manager at Sir Thomas Abney, says that the latter integrates the entire existing security infrastructure onto a central platform: “Simply put, we now have an electronic ‘ring of steel’ around the school and feel much more secure.”

Dave Mundy, Operations Manager at Delta Security, says that proven, long-term relationships are important to gaining a customer’s trust: “Security is important in many industries, but few are as important as education, where the welfare and safety of children is paramount.”

fter appearing at this year’s Education Show at the NEC we have been inundated with enquires from schools throughout the UK wishing to add something different and exciting to their playgrounds. Obesity is an ever growing problem in the UK and needs to be tackled at an early stage in a child’s development. Teachers are using the Outdoor Fitness Equipment as another part of the curriculum and even as a cross curriculum activity by getting children to measure their performances and transposing those results into graphs and pie charts in the classroom.

In the tradition of Walt Disney and Dr. Seuss, award-winning author Dr. Nicole breathes life into inanimate objects and wildly entertaining characters that engage children in powerful ways. Her works develop a love for reading while helping children develop the most important skill of all: critical thinking.
