ADVERTORIAL TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION
New rackable multi-trip box offers superior strength
G New JSPCheck
SP has just launched a revolutionary new system to inspect and keep track of its height safety equipment, giving a company complete control of its assets and allowing it to quickly and easily cost out jobs, take inventories, prevent loss and comply with safety regulations.
J JSPCheck uses radio wave
technology designed for use in tough construction and industrial markets. The system utilises durable radio frequency identification (RFID) tags to uniquely and accurately identify assets such as tools and equipment. It also includes a secure,
powerful, cloud-based
database for the user to accurately inspect, locate, assign, store and back up their own asset profiles and data in real time, plus RFID scanners to efficiently connect assets and data anywhere, at any time. Scanning can also be done using Android mobile devices. Automatically updated, JSPCheck removes the need for a company to maintain data on its own servers and replaces inefficient pen and paper inspections. Disaster recovery of inspection histories is therefore completely taken care of.

oplasticpallets.com has introduced a new multi-trip pallet box to its popular plastic pallet range – the Trip Box – which offers all the benefits of a traditional sleeve pack system, with the added benefits of improved strength and excellent performance in racking. Comprised of three components – a durable plastic pallet base, a sturdy but lightweight plastic sleeve and a plastic lid – the Trip Box differs to other sleeve pack systems on the market in that the pallet is not a lightweight thermoformed design but instead is injection moulded, making it exceptionally strong and robust as well as suitable for storage in racking systems.
The incredibly strong
structure means that the Trip Box can be used repeatedly, across multiple trips to and from the warehouse. Ben Messingham, UK Sales Manager for
Goplasticpallets.com, said: “Although we’ve only just introduced this product to our range, we’ve already taken our first order from one of the world’s leading manufacturers of planes and trains who is using it for storing and transferring component parts from the warehouse to the production line. “We’ve also had interest from a chemical company for exporting goods, a bathroom manufacturer for the home delivery of bathroom sets and from customers looking for a safer and more secure way to transport products. It’s still very early days though… applications for the Trip Box are limitless!”
Goplasticpallets.com’s Trip Box comes in three sizes – the 1210 with a 1200mm x 1000mm pallet base and weighing 33kg; the 1208 with a 1210mm x 800mm pallet base and weighing 23.29kg; and the 8060 a nestable pallet base measuring 800mm x 600mm and weighing just 11kg. The plastic sleeve can be tailored to almost any height, upon request and subject to minimum order. The standard height for the 1200mm x1000mm system is 965mm.

First Fanuc M410iC/185 robot in the field at Askew & Barrett
he first FANUC M410iC/185 universal palletising robot has been installed in the UK at pulse processor Askew & Barrett, where it has helped to boost productivity by 15-20% and eliminated a potential health and safety risk factor by automating a manual palletising operation. Askew & Barrett sources pulses from key agricultural merchants and then sorts, cleans and grades them at its processing plant in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. The pulses are bagged into 12.5kg and 25kg paper sacks and 25kg woven polypropylene (WPP) sacks, before being palletised and transported to food manufacturers and retailers at home and abroad. Prior to investing in the new generation FANUC palletising robot, Askew & Barrett used manpower to stack the sacks onto pallets. The problem was that in order to keep up with demand, during busy periods Askew & Barrett was having to operate the line 24 hours a day, six days a week.

horworld Industries is reporting significant export success, as the loading and unloading benefits of its range of mobile yardramps – already a market leader in the UK – become apparent worldwide. Companies in countries as diverse as Trinidad & Tobago, Latvia and Nigeria have purchased Thorworld yardramps in the past year, representing industries such as natural gas, industrial engines and glass bottles bottling. European growth remains consistently high, with sales in Germany, Hungary, Ireland and Moldova. A reseller in Spain has scored particular success, purchasing 13 Thorworld yardramps over a five-year period for customers who need to move heavy loads in the industrial sector. John Meale, Managing Director of Thorworld Industries,
T attributes this
growth to the global renown with which the UK logistics industry is held. “Our systems, especially in retail, are the envy of the world, as organisations meet the challenge of rapid technological change, consumer habits against the backdrop of financial and space pressures,” he comments.
