CHECKING TEMPERATURE of products, components and processes

How can I easily check the temperature of machine components, processes or products? Brady expert David Verloes offers an effective solution

I

f you want to check the temperature of machine components before starting

maintenance a temperature indicating label might be all you need. If your product, process or material is highly sensitive to temperatures, using a temperature indicating label is a cost effective way to see the current temperature or the maximum temperature reached.

A STICKY THERMOMETER You might recall those easy to use thermometers from your youth that simply said ‘no’ or ‘yes’ when you had a fever. They were easy to apply to the forehead and they let you know instantly if it was going to be a school day or a sick day. Brady’s temperature indicating label

works in much the same way except it is self-adhesive and can be attached to a machine component or product packaging. Brady’s engineered adhesives will make sure your label sticks to most surfaces. If you need an on the spot temperature indication for the machine you are operating for the products that

are in transit, a temperature indicating label is a great solution.

CURRENT AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE Temperature indicating labels come in two types: reversible and irreversible. Reversible temperature indicating labels can communicate any product’s or component’s current temperature, even during power loss. They quickly show when temperatures are not right to start a next phase of product testing, maintenance, food processing or medical processes. These labels show the current temperature and are called reversible because the values they display will change with temperature evolution. Brady offers irreversible temperature

indicating labels. These do not show current temperature but rather display a predetermined maximum temperature reached by a product or component over time. The labels are extremely practical in testing, maintenance and repair as they will quickly show which components were overheated.

Was this product, component or container overheated?

Temperature labels change colour to display the current or maximum temperatures reached

Irreversible temperature indicating

labels can also be used in quality checks on food products or medical supplies to see if they were transported and stored in optimal conditions.

A temperature indicating label works like a sticky thermometer

HIGHLY CUSTOMISABLE Temperature indicating labels can monitor various temperature ranges and are available in multiple shapes and colours. Reversible temperature indicating labels offer temperature ranges from 0°C to 100°C and are able to communicate current temperature or a hot versus cold state by changing colour. irreversible labels register one or more maximum temperatures up to 210°C by permanently changing colour. Temperatures monitored can be customised to your needs.

There are a great many options to indicate temperature
