England, in 1986 and 1987. Kerrick is proud of the photo snapped by “a young lad” on the ground as he approached to land at the annual gathering. The photo garnered the boy fi rst prize in a photo contest. Dana fl ew many aircraft for Harvey over the years, and over time the CTI founder convinced Kerrick to work for him in his burgeoning composite rotor blade repair business. In 1981, Kerrick took over management and marketing for the original CTI facility in Stockton, CA, while Harvey went out to open new facilities in Texas, Canada, North Carolina and Singapore. In 1992, Kerrick joined Bevelhimer and Randy Stevens to

form IAC, originally working from a small, leased space in Irving, TX, before building a facility near Fort Worth Alliance Airport in 1998. Kerrick has served as vice president of sales and marketing for IAC and regularly provides training and seminars at major helicopter conferences including HeliExpo Rotor Safety Challenge, Rotorcraft Support IA Renewal Seminar in Burbank, CA, ALEA Annual IA Renewal Seminar, and St. Louis Helicopter Association IA Renewal Seminar. His rotor blade inspection and preventive maintenance short courses are in high demand and help repair personnel maintain certifi cation in their fi eld. “Dana is recognized industry-wide as a leading expert in helicopter rotor blade maintenance,” says Stevens. “He was obviously integral to the success of IAC, and we’re very proud of his contributions to the helicopter maintenance industry.” In Kerrick’s tenure in the helicopter

world, he has seen helicopter rotor blades evolve from carefully matched wooden blades, to metal-skinned blades, to today’s modern composite blades, which have been the focus of his career for the past three decades and longer. Dana began his association in the composite rotor blade business at CTI in 1981 where he worked until co- founding IAC Ltd. in 1992. Kerrick’s plan for retirement is, “to

not work, at least for a while. I’ve been working since I was 15 years old and I want to just take some time off .” “He needs to catch up on his rest,”

says Paulene, Kerrick’s wife of almost 45 years. “Then he’s going to putter around and clean up his offi ce.” And travel. And see the grandkids.

And write a book. “He’s always wanted to write a book,” says Paulene. I guess we’ll see if he’s serious.” And, quite likely, you will fi nd
