FROM THE MAYOR
Welcome to Our Five-star City
Before you flip through the following pages, let me welcome you to the majestic, coastal para- dise of Dana Point. This directory is filled with a wealth of information on our local businesses,
hot spots and entertainment available throughout the year. It’s a great resource for visitors and residents alike.
The city of Dana Point prides itself on providing five-star services to match this five-star city. We are nearly finished with construction on our downtown corridor, The Lantern District. Please pardon our dust. This project, with newly renovated infrastructure throughout our historic business district, will create a pedestrian-
friendly atmosphere perfect for shopping, living and outdoor dining. We believe this area is a true treasure that will be enjoyed by all for years to come.
While traveling Del Prado Avenue, take notice of the 1929 replica lanterns that don the street corners of Blue, Ruby, Amber, Violet and Golden Lantern streets. These historic lanterns, topped with colored globes denoting the street, are a rich part of our past.
As a destination city, we have family-friendly concerts, festivals and events all year long, including our signature events: Dana Point Festival of Whales, Dana Point Grand Prix of Cycling, Toshiba Tall Ships Festival and Dana Point Turkey Trot. Additionally, the city plays host to a variety of free events like Movies and Concerts in the Park, Easter Egg
Hunts and an Independence Day fireworks display.
You can literally spend a full day in our Harbor shopping, dining, whale watching, fishing, boating or embarking on an excur- sion with convenient kayak, Jet Ski and stand-up paddleboard rentals. And some of the world’s best-known surfing beaches are located right here. Are you more of a land person? Well, if you are a walking and hiking fan, Dana Point has several scenic nature trails for you to cruise and enjoy.
So follow our motto of “Harboring the Good Life” and see all we have to offer. Who knows, you might be one of those who visits and decides to stay.
