THE MOAA MILITARY FAMILY INITIATIVE (MMFI), fi rst introduced to members in the February issue of Military Offi cer, off ers MOAA supporters — both members and the general public — an opportunity to donate to a 501(c)(3) foundation they can trust that is helping mili- tary families every day. MMFI directly funds
14 proven MOAA programs that touch over 50,000 currently serving troops and veterans of all ranks and their families and survivors each year. For example: 17,000 currently serving military members and their spouses and veter- ans receive help annually from MOAA

through six career fairs, networking events, webinars, and over 250 career- transition or fi nancial-education pre- sentations on military installations; 25,500 current or former service- members and spouses receive weekly career-transition updates via MOAA’s LinkedIn Career Networking Group;

91 of the 585 attendees at a recent MOAA virtual career fair advanced in their hiring process; 750-plus military spouses annu- ally attend (for free) one of MOAA’s military spouse symposia, “Keeping a Career on the Move®”; 200-plus veterans could increase their VA disability awards by an aver- age of $6,225 a year through direct MOAA claims assistance; 22,500 unique visits to MOAA’s “Tips for Lifelong Caregiving” web- site have led to 100 caregivers receiv- ing legal assistance and resulted in over $500,000 in recovered benefi ts for caregivers and their families.
