What the retailers had to say about Autumn/Winter 2014/15 Season:
“A very hard season. We did really well during September to the start of December mainly due to an increase in holiday makers in the Lake District but since December it has been extremely hard. Top brands for us were Rieker, Skechers, Mjus and Fly London. Tamaris did well except on the long boots. Spring stock has been flooding in and “Think!” has already had great interest to such a point I have repeated. It seems to be all about textured leathers and something different in all makes. We are holding a Skechers promotion at present and sales are looking good. Let’s hope it continues right through the season. I have just about finished my buying for AW15 and I have to say the Rieker collection is the best I have seen for a number of years, not only the vast variation in styles but also excellent price points.”Andrew Marshall Strolling 4 Shoes Cumbria.
“Another difficult season, weather didn’t help, snow in March instead of November, Ankle boots still being nibbled at, UKD have stocks that you can buy 1 pair at a time, we are repeating a few pairs most weeks. Are over the knee boots going to be in demand next season ???, Tall boots were hard to sell and then impossible to clear!!!!! Bernard O’Brien, LUKE O’BRIEN SHOES, Tuam, Co. Galway, Eire.
“A record winter period, but not for boot sales. Shoes were the choice of customers this season I hope they decide to change their old boots next winter!” Steve White. White & Son Shoes, Sidmouth, Devon.
