Tell us about your Company history? We’ve been around far longer than people think! Cara London previously traded under the Midas Shoes name in the late 1970’s and previous to that known as Turner Brothers, dating back to the late 1800’s. We first opened our retail doors in Cheltenham and Bristol in 1986 and have since grown into an innovative ladies footwear brand with 8 retail stores (our 9th store is due to open in Royal Windsor, May 2015) and an online shop. We also serve over 200 independents and boutiques across the UK and RoI. The wholesale business kicked off 6 years ago, launching at Pure with an extraordinarily strong A/W season, opening 65 new accounts. And rest they say, is history!
And,your brand philosophy? Our skill and experience creating ladies footwear over the years has lead us to produce the highest quality collections which are ever evolving with new designs, shapes and finishes. We have a strong relationship with our manufacturers in Italy and Europe who supply with the finest leather, suede and textile product you will find on the high street – this allows us to offer our customers a versatile and wearable product which will update their wardrobe and transform their outfit, whatever their age or style.

Where are you based? Cara London HQ is situated in the idyllic village of Goring-on-Thames. There you will find a stunning showroom and 9 very busy employees! The situation of head office is great for travelling to London, a mere 30 miles away. Customers are welcome to visit our showroom to view our entire collection, if they have missed a trade show. We manufacture predominately in Italy, Spain and Holland.
How many people work for Cara London? The wholesale side of the business is run predominately by 3 people. Operations Director Penny Websell, Stock Manager Charlotte Metcalfe and marketing manager Chloe James. Managing director Jim Sommerville and Retail Buyer Emma Pells play an instrumental part within the wholesale business, offering their support and expertise throughout the year. We are very lucky to have an excellent team working for the Cara London brand, always ready to roll up their sleeves and go the extra mile, especially over trade show season!
How do you market your products? We are very active on social media, we set up 3 channels a year ago and already have a strong
following on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Our products are loved by fashion bloggers and we have already witnessed a surge of interest in our brand from some up and coming bloggers like Polishing Colors and Girl a la Mode.
Any famous customers? Our store in Henley on Thames has been frequented by supermodel Twiggy, 80’s pop star Carol Decker and actress Joanna Page. ITV news presenter recently tweeted a pair of her Cara London sandals she bought from our store in Wokingham -
