The Lexium MDrive Ethernet products support EtherNet/IP as an adapter class device capable of implicit and explicit messaging with remote I/O onboard these integrated motion products. Available as open or closed loop with an internal magnetic encoder. Closed loop models feature hMTechnology. EtherNet/IP, ModbusTCP and Profinet are all software selectable from one product, delivering

COMPACT CARTESIAN PALLETISER IS A FITTING SOLUTION


Space limitations are often cited as a barrier for automation in production and packing plants. To resolve this issue, Pacepacker Services has developed and launched a more compact palletising system. Taking up just 4.3m2


of floor space and it


delivers a 50% reduction in floor footprint compared to a similar robotic arm solution. Situated at the end of an existing product conveyor, Pacepacker’s Compact Cartesian Palletiser is well suited for handling retail and wholesale goods in clusters, such as blister packs of flour and trays of jam jars, as well as boxes, cartons, shrink wrapped trays. The simple design comprises a robust frame that straddles the end of


line conveyor. A Cartesian mechanism supplied by Festo is built into the overhead area and an empty pallet is placed neatly on the floor within the structure. As product feeds along the conveyor, they are picked up and placed onto the pallet. The most appropriate end effector for each application, typically an


electro-magnetic or vacuum gripper, is added to the Cartesian device. To illustrate the floor footprint saving, a comparable robotic palletiser takes up around 8.6m2


increased throughput.
