"Sapphire Eye" Jack Storms 10.5” x 10.5”

Scott Johnson

Following in the footsteps of his talented father Snell Johnson, whose sculptures include the gold lion in front of the MGM in Las Vegas, Scott Johnson began creating his own works in 1985.

Originally starting with bronze and custom ceramics, he soon felt a need for more creative outlets to express his visions and artistic skills. Scott Johnson quickly took to hand blown glass, creating his now signature bouquets of timeless flowers. With the look of a natural

flower, the beauty of these glass pieces create a perfect accent in just about any environment.

FEA TURE Glass Collection Jacarte Glass

The techniques involved in making Jacarte Glass have been mastered within only a few provinces in China. This mastery is known for its exceptional craftsmanship and profoundly detailed paintings. In pieces like Hummingbirds, the artist has unbelievably rendered the image to perfection inside a perfectly shaped crystal perfume bottle. Every Jacarte Glass painter has more than 15 years of experience and display rare talent. In each piece, whether it is a perfume bottle or a vase, natural light illuminates the glass with mesmerizing and transcendent brilliance.

Jack Storms To a natural born artist, limits are pushed when told that something is impossible. Jack Storms has triumphed in the extremely difficult medium of merging lead crystal and dichroic glass, using what is know as a coldglass process. Jack Storms is one of only a few artists that can successfully create this type of work. Perfection within the process takes almost ten weeks to complete and is physically taxing. “Natural beauty is created, not manufactured...” and in his work he creates the impossible in contemporary glass art.

In 2004, Jack Storms opened

StormWorks studio. Some standout and now famous pieces include his 3000-glass- piece baseball bat made for New York Yankees player Derek Jeter to commemorate his 3000th hit, as well as the Bella Vino sculpture, which won the People’s Choice Award in 2007 at the BAGI Awards.
