“We’ve had to start from scratch,” said
Logano, who grew up skating in Connecti- cut. “We had to build it up and Paul really helped us out in doing that. Now we’re a state-of-the-art training center.” “I didn’t even know where the rink
was,” admitted Wylie, laughing. “I can re- member the first seminar I did there and we were in our socks in the ballet room, practicing our backward crossovers. Just recently I realized that the nine years I’ve been skating at this rink is as long as any other place I’ve skated.” How does that feel for a guy who
spent most of his training days in skating havens like Colorado and Boston? “Pretty special, actually,” he said.
“Some of those kids I taught that first day, they’re in college now, they’re coaches at the rink.”
