Tis is more of a long term project and requires significant

expense, but it’s something most other major retailers will be doing in the next few years. If you don’t already have a strategy, start planning now. If the expense is too much, who might you partner with?

Day 10: Blog

B2C corporate blogging may seem like it’s not reaching anyone, but if you work your way into the right link distribution networks and distance yourself from blatant advertising, you can find yourself generating a fair amount of traction that can then be leveraged in favour of your app. Variations on the “gift ideas” theme are a good start and thematically consistent.

Day 11: Gather data

Whether you want to add a registration form to the app, or gather data through a competition – a retail app in general represents a great opportunity to get new data, stratify and send out targeted, mobile-optimized campaigns to.

YUDU Media have developed retail apps for top brands such as Screwfix, Precor and Scotts and Co. To find out how the YUDU team can help you too, email: marketing@yudu.com or call 020 7430 6616

Day 12: Extra m-commerce incentives

Once an app has been downloaded, it’s an extra marketing channel for you to use. So offer extra m-commerce incentives, such as offering free next day shipping for purchases made within the app. Just in time for last-minute shoppers!
