Accent Catering Scoop yet another ‘Best Employer Award 2014’
Education caterers Accent pride themselves on being a fabulous employer. This Autumn saw the team receive a third accolade to underline this in the form of the ‘Best Employer in Hospitality Award’ by
caterer.com. The results were gathered using an employee engagement survey and based solely on the responses from employees for an unbiased view based on true employee perceptions. Accents engagement levels exceeded 94% and were certainly in good company with the other 2014 category winners including; Yo! Sushi, Liverpool FC and De Vere Venues. Neil Pattison, Sales Director of

They are the ones who really consider their employees and work hard to develop and motivate them, and this is reflected in their customer satisfaction levels, employee retention and overall business success."
Earlier this year Accent were awarded a ‘Best Places to Work in Hospitality’ accreditation by The Caterer Magazine. This was largely thanks to employee engagement activities such as their ‘Shining Stars Magazine’ and reward system, alongside their ‘Managers Meeting bi-annual day out’ for every site manager covering training, company updates and a very well attended meal out!

Keep winter bugs at bay with good hand hygiene
The colder season brings with it different challenges for schools and nurseries but hand hygiene should always remain a top priority in order to shield children from winter bugs, such as colds, flu and even norovirus.
According to the Department of Education, 62% of overall absences in the school year is due to illness - the equivalent of 11.4 million school days. Manty Stanley, managing director at TEAL, says: “Viruses such as the flu, norovirus and the common cold occur more frequently in the colder months. Children have fragile immune systems meaning viruses such as these can pose major health risks.
“Hand hygiene needs to be kept top of the agenda as it can safeguard both pupils and staff against winter bugs and the distress they can cause. “Anti-bacterial gels are not enough to protect children – washing hands with soap and warm water is the gold standard of hand hygiene. “Hand washing should be a learning experience for children - a developed skill that will stay with them for life,” says Manty.
