King Harbor Sea Fair returns to Redondo Beach, May 18
REDONDO BEACH – The public is invited to attend the King Harbor Sea Fair — a day packed with family-friendly activities and information on boating safety – scheduled for May 18. The fair will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at King Harbor Yacht Club, 80
Yacht Club Way in Redondo Beach and at the Sea Lab located at 1021 Harbor Drive in Redondo Beach. A marine expo, local organizations and boat rides are scheduled for the
Sea Fair. Now in its seventh year, the free event includes educational opportuni-
ties, crafts and entertainment that the whole family can enjoy. Tallship Irving Johnson will also be docked in the harbor where guests can tour the historic vessel and book passages. This year,

foundation has part- nered with SEA Lab to organize the 2014 Sea Fair. SEA Lab, a pro- gram of the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, that pro- vides hands-on science activi- ties at the science center locat- ed in Redondo Beach. The partnership will help to increase the event’s footprint to include all SEA Lab displays, additional partners and allow the fair to stretch from the SEA Lab through the King Harbor Marina parking lot to the premises of King Harbor Yacht Club. classic grunion video, interact with grunion researchers, touch live tidepool animals and see the many fish and other live animals in the aquarium. After partici- pating in fun grunion activities, everyone will head to the beach to observe these enchanting fish. During the month of May, which is the heaviest spawning period, grunion may be observed, but not cap- tured. Warm clothing is recommended.
