63428–(Galanthus nivalis)–Zones 3-9 One of the fi rst bulbs to blossom in the spring. The fl owers sometimes ap- pear before the snow has melted. White ‘butterfl y’-shaped blooms ignore the cold, nodding on 4 to 6 inch stems.


These fascinating ornamental bulbs are closely related to onions, but without the onion odor. They make striking vertical accents in fl ower borders with fl owers borne in tight or loose umbels in late spring and early summer. Plant in full sun to light shade and well-drained soil.
