The American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) elected its Executive Committee at the 2014 AQHA


Convention in New Orleans. The 5-person committee is responsible for implementing important decisions made by AQHA members through the association’s board of directors. The members are AQHA President Johnny Trotter, Hereford, an AQHA director for 11 years, who is CEO of Livestock Investors LLT and owns Bar G Feed- yard; First Vice President George Phillips, Sumrall, Miss; Second Vice President Dr. Glenn Blodgett, Guthrie, resi- dent veterinarian and manager of the horse division at the Four Sixes Ranch; Sandy Arledge, Encinitas, Calif.; and Ralph Seekins, Fairbanks, Alaska.

Pendergrass will focus on commercial marketing, fi eld services, the Junior Beefmaster Breeders Association and representing the Beefmaster breed at industry events. Collin Osbourn, formerly the Chief Operating Offi cer, will now serve as the Chief Financial Offi cer; his responsibilities will include overseeing the fi nancial and offi ce operations that occur within BBU. On March 8, BBU signed an agreement with the Federación de Asociaciones Ganaderas de Nicaragua (FAGANIC) to provide frozen Beefmaster genetics to the cattlemen of Nicaragua. The agreement was signed at the Hous- ton Livestock Show and Rodeo in coordination with an annual Beefmaster sale. At the agreement signing, BBU
