Profi le: Grupo Plasticos Ferro (GPF), whose head offi ce is situated on the north-western tip of Spain, grew from a factory making plastic spoons into one that made mainly PVC pipe for water supply and waste drainage systems. Nowadays, in addition to a broad range of pipe products (from conduit pipe to products for hot and cold water), the company also makes aquaculture products such as profi les that are used to construct mollusc farms.
Plant locations: The group has eight production facilities in all, split between its manufacturing subsidiaries. Braseli makes pressurised hot and cold water pipes in Alava; Tepsa produces aquaculture products in Lugo; Tuyper has three pipe and fi ttings plants in Alava, Malaga and Pontevedra; and Plasticos Ferro, the main company, has plants in Lugo and Granada, plus the group’s only overseas facility in Casablanca, Morocco.
Product lines: The company’s products are aimed at many industries, and use a wide range of different materials. Its FerroPlast products encompass everything from PVC soil pipe to PE pressure pipe and PEX, and include a sound-absorbing system called FerroPlast Mute. Flotar is Tepsa’s range of aquaculture products. And Tuyper concentrates on PVC pipe, including corrugated pipe.
