It was a pleasure to recently attend the BGIA AGM and dinner. It’s exciting times for the Association, particularly with the impending


launch of National Golf Month this May. Aſter two years, it is really great to see how this initiative has developed into the ‘brand’ it is now. As an industry, let’s make sure we keep up the momentum across May as getting people back golfing again is the key to the survival of the game.


One of my local clubs, Kings Hill near Maidstone, is championing taster golf sessions for as little as £5 and you can really see how clubs are thinking ‘outside of the box’ a bit in encouraging lapsed golfers back into the game. Golf has much to do in turning round declining memberships but encouraging cost-effective deals to a market where price now dictates everything looks the way to go.


Once again we have a bumper issue with our bi-annual Apparel Guide and some interesting product innovations in our main issue including GolfBoard which really has to be seen to be believed; think Back to the Future!
