I quite frankly don’t know how you do these hard jobs without some faith. I don’t know. Other people can come to you and explain it to you. I have no idea. I don’t know how an oath becomes meaningful unless you have faith. Because at the end you say, ‘So help me God.’ And a promise to God is differ- ent from a promise to anyone else.”

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, addressing the role faith plays in his work as a justice.

Sharp turn on issues Americans’ attitudes toward gays and lesbians have radically shifted since Massachusetts first legalized same–sex marriage a decade ago, according to a survey from the Public Religion Research Institute. The shift toward increased acceptance crosses all religious, political and age groups, and every region of the country. The survey also uncovered a reason 1 in 3 millennials (under age 34) are less religious: young adults told research- ers they left their childhood religion because of their church’s negative teachings or treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people. At the root of change: a personal con- nection to someone who is LGBT.

Here the timeless elegance of bronze and Armento artisanship are combined to create a beautiful Columbarium Memorial while making the comfort of church burial an affordable alternative.

Priests are to encour- age members to instead speak pub- licly about loved ones at funeral homes or in a parish hall.
