he new FSC-1114 fuse blown indicating module, designed to distribute a supply voltage, is a DIN rail mounting module, that has 10 common indicating fuse blown outputs. Each fused channel can handle up to 7.5A, with a maximum of 40A max for the module. In the event of a fuse being blown a relay is energized and the volt free contacts can be used to signal the problem to the SCADA system or raise a local alarm. The Daito blown fuse gives an indication that it is open circuit, individual Channel fuses purchased separately can be 1A, 1.6A, 2A, 3.2A, 5A or 7.5A. Latest Virtual Instruments facilitate data flow in high precision testing

BM has developed LabVIEW Virtual Instruments (VIs) giving system manufacturers an integrated solution to ensure convenient control in system tests with the simultaneous measurement of high-precision data acquisition from equipment such as HBM’s QuantumX family. The compact and flexible solution also meets the needs of small and mid-size test benches, such as those used to examine car seats or closing systems. In addition to gaining full integration of the data acquisition information in LabVIEW, system manufacturers can start with freely defined analog or periodic signals and output individual analog values or scaled input signals. The LabVIEW Virtual Instruments are designed to offer all system manufacturers maximum flexibility combined with the highest measurement quality for demanding test tasks. HBM’s QuantumX family has been designed to optimally meet the data acquisition requirements of system tests while LabVIEW is a proven software solution in test benches because it features a great deal of programming flexibility. HBM’s MX840A universal amplifier, for example, can operate all commonly used sensors required for functional, environmental and long-term tests while capturing mechanical, electrical and thermal quantities with high precision. It also features CAN channels for communication with electronic control devices while supporting control device protocols CPP and XCP-on-CAN. The addition of the MX879 Multi-I/O module can be used to record states and output switching or setpoint signals.

Outdoor weighing applications enhanced with latest TPE cables

BM has developed cables made from thermoplastic elastomers to provide a high level of protection against weather and rodents. The cables are available on reels for easier installation and additional flexibility when constructing outdoor installations of weighing systems. Outdoor weighing applications demand cables featuring sturdiness and long-term stability that are met by the latest thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) cables developed by HBM since they provide very high levels of mechanical protection when compared with PVC cables. The CAB1M variant of the cables features metal braid that can be needed as an additional deterrent from rodents. The use of TPE cables eliminates the need for expensive special cable protection pipes while ensuring high system safety and reliability.
HBM also provides
suitable installation material for a range of its products such as the C16 and HLC load cells, weighing modules C16/M and HLC/M and the WE2107 weighing electronics that complement the TPE cables for outdoor weighing applications.

The package comes complete with everything needed to measure 4-channels of strain or voltage including easy to use one touch adaptors / bridge box, DCS- 100A software and a USB connection cable. The EDX- 10A operates from the 5 volt USB interface in a four channel configuration to a maximum of 20kHz, while an external power adapter is required when multiple measuring units are connected in an ingenious stacked configuration for flexibility and ease of operation.
