Switches and crossings (S&Cs) are the most cost & maintenance intensive components of railway track infrastructure. Construction and maintenance of S&C assemblies require highest precision and effi ciency. This is exactly what the all-in-one high performance tamping machine Unimat 09-4x4/4S offers. The integration of 09-tamping technology for plain line track and S&Cs and the „4x4/4S“-tamping technology for perfect maintenance of all types of S&C layouts found on NR infrastructure including „parallel tamping features“. Furthermore, this machine concept allows the implementation of dynamic track stabilisation (DTS-technology as well), which fi nally results in having three machines all in one.
