Just to be clear …


When we were studying religious art in Sunday class, a member told about her daughter, 6, doing the artwork for the birth announcement when her brother was born. Since it was near Christmas, she chose to draw nativity pictures. When the mother asked why baby Jesus had a beard she explained,

Eyes on the ring My 5-year-old grandson was admiring a ring that I was wearing. I said he could have it when I passed away. He didn’t understand my choice of terms, so I explained that when I die and go to heaven the ring would be his. He looked at me, thought about it and then asked, “Grandpa, when are you going?”

Assisting minister age drops When a friend invited her great-grandson to attend church with her, Aiden, 3, went forward for the children’s sermon but was slow returning to their pew. With eager hand motions the family finally got him to return and asked why he was so slow. “Well, I just wanted to stay and help him

Down the Promised Land slide During a Sunday school discussion about Moses leading his people from Egypt to the Promised Land, I used the phrase “Wander- ing in the wilderness.” One puzzled student asked, “They had The Wilderness back then?” Although I thought it was a strange question, I responded that “desert” is another name for wilderness. Another student then explained that the first student thought I was talking about “The Wilderness
