Metal Construction Hall of Fame
Last year, Metal Construction News founded the Metal Construction Hall of Fame, and this year we are proud to announce the 2013 honorees. MCN started the Metal Construction Hall of Fame with two goals in mind. We wanted to recognize people in our industry who have made signifi cant contributions and, in some way, changed and improved all of our lives. We also wanted to draw more attention to the innovation, dynamism and excitement of the metal construction industry. The six honorees presented on these pages showcase

the dynamism and excitement, as well as serving as strong beacons to our industry.
The judges used the following criteria to assess nominees: Honorees are inducted in one of three categories:
Manufacturer/Supplier • Johnson • McElroy
• Prudhon Contractor/Installer • Farrar
• Miller Friend of the Industry • Ellifritt
This year, the judging panel recommended the cre- ation of a Legacy Award that allows for posthumous recognition in the Hall of Fame. Two of our honorees this year fi t into this category: Miller and Prudhon.
The Criteria
The Metal Construction Hall of Fame recognizes those individuals who have made signifi cant contribu- tions to the success, innovation and growth of the metal construction industry. The aim is to pay tribute to the men and women of the industry who have devoted their lives and careers to metal construction.
Longevity: Honorees must have been actively involved in the industry for at least 15 years. Unique Contribution: The creation or develop- ment of a specifi c aspect or segment of business that has advanced the industry. Body of Work: The depth and breadth of contri- bution to the industry throughout a career. Legacy: The honoree’s contribution must have had a long-lasting impact on the industry. Integrity: Honorees must exhibit the highest ethical and professional standards in all aspects of business.
The Judges
Four judges evaluated the nominees and represent the major industry associations in partnership on the Hall of Fame. Modern Trade Communications is the founding partner and underwriter of the program.
