has been a strong voice for our industry and for the entire manufacturing sector." DiMicco served as CEO of Nucor from Sep-
tember 2000 through December 2012. Under his leadership, Nucor's total shareholder return growth of 720 percent was almost four times greater than the total return of the Standard & Poor's Steel Group Index and was 28 times greater than the S&P 500's total return. “[DiMicco] has built upon the legacy of Ken-
neth Iverson and Marvin Selig. Their collective efforts have helped our nation emerge as one of the most competitive places in the world to make steel, and have allowed our companies to provide high-paying, safe manufacturing jobs to skilled Americans," says Ferriola. Upon on receiving the award, DiMicco recog-

AISC certifi cation standard for
structural steel erectors available The new AISC standard for structural steel erector certifi cation is available for free downloading on the AISC web site at www.
aisc.org/specifi cations (under Certifi cation Standards at the bot- tom of the web page). Formally titled AISC 206-13, AISC Certifi ca- tion Program for Struc- tural Steel Erectors- Standard for Structural Steel Erectors-2013, the standard outlines the requirements for a structural steel erector's quality management system. The new standard is the culmination of several
years of work by the AISC Certifi cation Standards Committee and a special subcommittee created to draft the standard. The standard is modeled after existing AISC certifi cation standards. "The erector standard was written with signifi cant input from erectors," notes Ted Sheppard, chairman of the ad hoc committee on the erector standard. "We spent a great deal of time developing requirements that
make good fi rms even better." The AISC Certifi cation program expects to
replace the current checklist-based erector certifi - cation program with a standards-based program. "The application of quality management system principles to structural steel erection is a natural extension of AISC's move towards quality manage- ment system standards," adds Jacques Cattan, AISC vice president.
