In her new book ‘Conquering Global Markets – Secrets from the World’s Most Successful Multinationals’, Professor Nancy Hubbard shines a light on the strategies some of the largest companies are employing to globalise through mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic alliances, distribution models, licensing and outsourcing.


Professor Hubbard is an internationally known academic and consultant shares her insights with KPMG.


“This is a time of signifi cant change for the world’s multinationals. The international business scene is confronted with a very different landscape than it was a couple of decades ago. Organisations are shifting their focus from being diversifi ed industrially and geographically centralised to becoming narrowly focused industrially and geographically diversifi ed.


“Interestingly, the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) were almost seen as ‘old news’ by the executives that I interviewed, while the high growth markets of Nigeria, Indonesia and Vietnam were seen as a greater focus of attention.”
