MICROSOFT HOPES it has given its next-generation console a huge pre-order boost by giving away FIFA14with every pre-order. FIFA 14is tipped to be the biggest game in Europe this year. FIFA 13was last year’s best-selling titles, in the UK alone it has sold over 3m units. It’s a big coup for Microsoft, which the firm will hope will add value to its Xbox One console, which has an RRP of £429.99.


Ambitious new Fable will let users play as a villain on Xbox One

MICROSOFT unveiled its most ambitious Xbox One project yet, at Gamescom: Fable Legends.


It’s the first Xbox One game using Unreal Engine 4 and, as well as playing as the hero, gamers can also take control of the villain. The hero part of the game is a co-op adventure, where four players (or AI controlled players) team up to battle evil.


But it’s the villain elements that are most interesting. In this role, gamers can take control of creatures, minions, traps

and hazards that the heroes will have to defeat. This is more a strategic adventure and can even be played using SmartGlass alongside friends who are playing as the heroes.


This is not the only Fable game in the works, a HD remake of the very first game in the series is due on Xbox 360 this year.
