Bahamondez Alvarez & Zegers is working on the due diligence of four solar projects in North Chile and is advising Seven Seas Water Corpo- ration on a project to build a desalination plant in Northern Chile. The firm is also assisting Gasoducto Gasandes with a $12 million bid procedure for equipment acquisition. The firm has acted as an external counsel to Pacific Hydro with the sale of non-strategic assets and TransCanada in regard to its investments in gas pipelines infrastructure in Southern Chile.

second largest energy producer. The firm is advising Colbún in the in the continuing reorganization process of its power transmission assets worth $300 million. Barros & Errázuriz also advised Interconexión Eléctrica (ISA) in the


public bids currently carried out by the Economic Load Dispatch Cen- ter and the National Commission of Energy regarding the 2011 and 2012 expansion plans of the trunk transmission system and the con- struction of power transmission lines and electrical substations that will be incorporated to the Central and Northern Interconnected Systems. The investments are estimated to be $800 million and $160 million, respectively. The firm has advised Empresa Constructora Belfi in the successful bid for the airport in Araucanía, Chile. Carey is Chile’s largest law firm, and has carved out a distinctive niche in the legal market, providing counsel to energy companies on liquefied natural gas (LNG), run-of-river hydro power, wind power and other non-conventional and renewable power projects that have come into vogue since the falloff in the supply of Argentinean natural gas. Carey advised Pacific Hydro in the refinancing of an existing syndi-


cated loan facility for $340 million and in the granting of a new loan, with regards to the 111MW Chacayes Hydro Power Project in Chile. The refinancing was finalised on November 28 2012. In May of the same year, Carey counseled Pattern Energy Group and AEI in a $215 million credit agreement for the financing of an 115MW wind farm located in the borough of Ovalle. The firm also provided counsel in the negotiation and execution of a VAT Facility Agreement with Corp- banca to fund up to $20 million of VAT incurred on the construction of the wind farm.
