Christmas Cheer S

EVEN HUNDRED AND TWENTY PEOPLE filled the Regency Ballroom at the Hyatt. Our theme ‘Legendary Christmas’ touched several elements including performances by rock and roll legends Elvis, Buddy Holly, Fats

Domino and Roy Orbison. Even the volunteers and committee members dressed up in 1950s costumes. A shiny green Harley in front of the stage drew attention to the $300 prize towards

a Harley rental or clothing. Other prizes included…an electric guitar with amp; case of wine; two Plasma 3D HDTVs; and weekend getaway at the River Rock Casino & Resort. The most talked about prize was the Bollinger champagne with case shaped like a silencer to commemorate James Bond’s 50th Anniversary. The grand prize was a $2,500 trip to the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. Prize tickets were sold out before lunch, a record! Every table centrepiece – a pyramid-shaped Christmas ornament and bottle of wine – was a prize for 72 people who won the ‘Legends of Christmas’ trivia game. 

Ski Day G

ORGEOUSWHISTLER was the destination of Ski Day, now in its second year. A coach picked up

skiers and snowboarders at two locations, who were greeted with a welcome coffee. Lift tickets, lunch vouchers and dinner at Pepe and Gringo’s in Squamish was also included in the package. It was a fantastic day for all involved. 
