THANKING VETERANS
WITH THE WORD OF GOD John Hurff has no record of military service, but what he does have is a heart for veterans and a 275-acre orchard and produce farm in Monroeville, New Jersey. In 2006, Hurff fi rst opened his property to area veterans as a way to thank them, handing out free food and Bibles to more than 200 veterans. By 2012, nearly 1,800 vets showed up. “We gave out approximately 1,670 Bibles,” Hurff says. “It is the greatest day of the year for me. It is like Christmas!”
T e centerpiece of Hurff 's annual open house is a free Bible for every veteran.
