Deputy manager appointed in Harrogate Pam Boldock has been appointed deputy manager at Vida Hall, a new care home for people living with dementia in Harrogate. A mental health nurse, Pam has worked in dementia care for 28 years.

Vida Hall is a 70-bed facility catering for residents with dementia across day care, respite and long-term residential care.

New Manager in Nelson

Val Lawson, who worked as a midwife for 27 years at Burnley Hospital, is the new manager at Andrew Smith House in Nelson. Val held several positions at the home before her appointment.

Signature promotes and adds positions

Signature Senior Lifestyle has announced management promotions and additions. Tom Newell, who has served as Signature’s

chief executive since October 2008, has been promoted to executive chairman. Chief fi nancial offi cer, Aidan Roche, who was a founding member of senior management when Signature was formed in 2006, has been promoted to Managing Director.

Other recent promotions and additions include Tom Ball, fi nance director; Neil Phillips, commercial director; and Naz Dhanji, head of fi nance and planning. Sarah Devlin has assumed the role of Group sales and marketing director. Joanne Lindley will fi ll the newly created position of Group care quality manager.

Lawyer names trustee of national charity

North west lawyer Lawrence Tudin has been invited to join the board of trustees for a national charity dedicated to the protection of older people, Action on Elder Abuse. Lawrence Tudin, who is head of the older and vulnerable client team at law fi rm SAS Daniels LLP which has offi ces in Macclesfi eld, Chester, Congleton and Stockport, was recognised for his expertise in the sector. With more than 20 years’ experience, he is a specialist in health and social care, and is nationally acclaimed for his Court of Protection work and his role acting for clients as deputy and attorney. He regularly speaks at conferences and seminars, and is currently a member of the Cheshire East Ageing Well board and former Chairman of Age UK Cheshire East.

Action on Elder Abuse (AEA) works to protect and prevent the abuse of vulnerable older adults. The charity runs a dedicated helpline, campaigns on issues that affect vulnerable older people, and runs training, conferences and seminars.
