showing off

ITEC 2013 is bigger and better than ever. More importantly, it’ll be revealing some revolutionary new technology enabling military specialists to keep one step ahead of enemy forces

ITEC HAS long provided a unique platform for the international military training, education and simulation sectors, bringing pertinent topics to the forefront of debate and new technology to military and security forces across the globe. Established for over 20 years, ITEC showcases the latest innovatory products and services and provides unique networking opportunities for its exhibitors, visitors and conference delegates. The annual event offers its visitors not only an opportunity to review, benchmark and engage with the solutions and ideas from ITEC’s broad spectrum of exhibitors, but also to engage directly with senior military and policy customers, industry partners, and those at the forefront of academic research.

The event’s organiser, Clarion Events, will stage next year’s event at the Fiera di Roma in Rome, while previous locations have included Brussels, Cologne, Lille, Lausanne, Maastricht, Prague, Stockholm and London. Rome is the location for NATO’s Modelling and Simulation Centre of Excellence (M&S COE) which acts as a catalyst for transformation through the involvement of NATO, government, academia, industry and operational and training entities. The city is also home to NATO’s Defence College, the international institution established to educate officers and officials and conduct academic studies and research in support of the Alliance’s wider goals.

“ITEC attracts an increasingly diverse group of participants from every continent.” said Rear Admiral Simon Williams, Chairman of Clarion Events, Defence and Security. “And by changing location every year, the event engages a broad set of industry partners, academics and, critically, the users. Italy not only offers an opportunity for ITEC attendees to reach the key European and allied US audience, but also enables the development of connections into the North African, Middle Eastern and broader Asian markets.”

Expanded agenda

As ITEC broadens its focus further around the world, the conference has also expanded to include important issues emerging in the training and simulation arenas. As a forum for debate, display and discussion of military simulation and training, this year’s ITEC agenda is tailored to offer an expert overview across a wide range of topical issues.
