Study Nonprofits and Teach Them Well Nonprofits must understand their exposures, their coverage options and how their policies work.

“You want to make sure you’re their eyes and ears and [that] you’re really engaged with not only the insurance but just what their needs may be.”

Maria Treglia, Program Brokerage Corp.

Smaller nonprofits must comply with the same laws and regulations as large corporations. Without substantial administrative, legal and risk management resources of their own, however, they must rely on agents and brokers to help them understand their legal obligations and how to mitigate their exposures to employment practices and directors & officers risks. The broker must explain the nuances of policy coverages and the importance of partnering with a carrier that has long-standing, in- house expertise in managing these types of claims.
