1. Integrate experiential learning into the academic lives of all students.
2. Adapt and develop curricula and partnerships that create career pathways built upon the liberal arts core.
3. Broker student-alumnae connections to bridge curriculum to career.
4. Evaluate the College’s role in helping students to find, afford, and make the most of internship opportunities.
rubric of Curriculum to Career. Each is aimed at aligning the College’s curricular and cocurricular offerings with preparation for work and life. Providing students from all socioeconomic backgrounds the opportunity to experience the transformative nature of a Mount Holyoke education and all that it offers—including access to integrate the liberal arts with the world of work—is part of the College’s work in advancing women’s leadership worldwide. The number one reason students cite for not taking advantage of
internship opportunities is economic: they need to earn money to cover costs associated with their education during the summer months. Typically, internships offer unpaid or low-paid opportunities only.
It is only through a liberal education that we will be able to encourage the exploration of values and provide, not just the technical skills, but the humanistic skills needed to enact those values.
