In Germany during the first three quarters, 380,890 m2
of office space was taken up by
TMT companies. The most popular locations were Munich, where the TMT sector occupied 23% of the market, securing more than 120,770 m2
, and Düsseldorf, where the sector took 22% of the market, securing more than 46,450 m2
.
Within the Ile-de-France region, which includes Paris, the TMT sector occupied 5% of the market during the same period. However, a large number of TMT companies are start-ups, which will move into smaller offices. The sector will continue to grow, with 54% of London TMT firms expecting to increase head count over the next three years. This equals an additional 111,480 m2
of demand above
the sector’s current average take-up, which is equivalent to two Shard Towers.
London is ranked by TMT professionals as the world’s second most important TMT centre behind New York
BNP PRE says that in total, TMT take-up in the UK is forecast to reach 431,985m2
by the end of
2014 – the equal of eight Shards. According to the research, London was ranked
by TMT professionals as the world’s second most important TMT centre behind New York, but ahead of Los Angeles, Paris, Hong Kong, Berlin and the Silicon Valley.
