BY TIZIANA CAULI
Investment in French real estate grew by 4.5% to €16.8bn across 2012, a year in which individual transactions larger than than €100m returned to the market. Based on research by Savills, an increase in
portfolio deals helped to boost the number of such large transactions, and a few deals, mostly led by Qatari investors, even exceeded €500m. According to Savills’ head of investment in France, Boris Cappelle, more than 46 deals sized over €100m were completed last year, compared with 40 in 2011.
