AT&T Delivers Upgraded Network for Subsea 7

AT&T has just completed an upgrade of Subsea 7’s global IP-based virtual private network (VPN), effectively doubling the size of its network. The expanded network will now cover a total of 30 Subsea 7 sites worldwide.

Subsea 7 is a leading seabed-to-surface engineering, construction and services contractor to the global offshore energy industry.

Following the merger of Acergy and Subsea 7 in 2011 the company needed to integrate the two organizations’ separate networks, consolidating legacy sites to one central network as the global workforce increased to a total of 12,000.

Connecting the sites on a single, unified network has enabled employees to work more collaboratively and productively, providing access to shared resources and business-critical enterprise applications across the organization.

Anders From, IT Director, Subsea 7, commented, “Making a smooth transition from two companies to one presents a variety of technical challenges. Our longstanding relationship with AT&T meant we knew we could rely on excellent customer service and counsel, as well as reliable delivery on technical needs such as network resilience and global reach.”

AT&T helps BSH expand global network reach

BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH (BSH), Europe’s largest manufacturer of home appliances, has extended its global contract with AT&T and added ten new locations in Asia to support its growth in key emerging markets.

These new locations will be connected to the global Wide Area Network (WAN), which will now cover a total of 70 BSH production and sales sites worldwide.

“Global players like BSH need a powerful, reliable network to support their business and growth,” said Joachim Kathmann, Vice President AT&T Germany and Central Europe.

The agreement is built on AT&T’s proven track record as a key global supplier for BSH. AT&T has operated a powerful and highly available IP-based global virtual private network for BSH across 25 countries in Europe, the US, Latin America and Asia since 2004.

Dr. Jürgen Sturm, CIO BSH, commented, “AT&T has proven to be a very reliable supplier with consistent quality throughout the world – an essential requirement for our mission-critical business applications.”
