In conclusion

Since 2008 the general public’s perception of banks has been far from positive, to say the least. I hope our clients have a different view of Deutsche Bank, but I suspect few know the huge breadth of activities in which we are engaged to the benefit of wider society – from the arts and charities to groundbreaking research and youth development.

I’m constantly impressed and humbled when I hear about many of the interesting people and projects we work alongside.

In this new magazine we’ve had more space to enable us to share some of these stories with you while still retaining the traditional investment and wealth management articles that clients have always enjoyed.

We’ve been able to include interviews with famous film and sports stars. We’re also pleased to feature a client’s story for the first time. Being conscious of the need for discretion, we have always been a little reticent in asking clients to share their stories in a public forum like Informed.

And yet the experiences of a couple like Richard and Rosemary Clifton – who tell of the challenges they faced emigrating to Switzerland and becoming UK non-residents – are fascinating and potentially very helpful to others.

I’m very grateful to the Cliftons and would encourage other clients with interesting experiences and passions they would like to share to contact us.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this first edition of Informed. Please do let us know what you think – what you liked reading and what you would like to read in the next edition!
