GE dives in on Lianzi G

E Oil & Gas has scooped a $165m contract to sup-

ply production equipment to Chevron’s Lianzi project, sit- uated offshore between An- gola and the Republic of Congo.

GE will provide a range of technologies to enable EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) project ex- ecution.

This includes the supply

of seven trees, nine subsea control modules (SCMs), top-

arathon Oil has submit- ted the plan for develop-

ment and operation (PDO) of the Norwegian Sea Bøyla field to the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. The Bøyla development is

expected to begin production during the fourth quarter of 2014.

The field is located in Block 24/9 in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, ap- proximately 28km south of the Alvheim field.

The PL 340 licence was

awarded in 2004 and the initial discovery was made in 2009. Subsurface evaluation and mapping conducted post explo- ration and appraisal drilling has demonstrated the presence of commercial volumes of oil,

(Tcf) of gas offshore Trinidad, doubling the esti- mated gas in place of the Savonette gas field to 2 Tcf. The Savonette 4 appraisal

tree is scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter of 2013, with a cross-regional team from GE Oil & Gas’ Ab- erdeen, Nailsea and Sandvika (Norway) sites collaborating on project delivery.

The $2 billion Lianzi de-

velopment will include a sub- sea production system and a 43km electrically heated

Lundin said.

The field will be developed as a subsea tie-back to the Alvheim floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) with two production wells and a water injection well being drilled. The total investment in the

field development is estimated at US $867m.

The estimated reserves are 23m boe.

Bøyla crude oil will be com- mingled with the Alvheim blend and exported via shuttle tankers. Associated gas will be exported via Alvheim to the SAGE pipeline. Marathon operates the field with a 65% stake. Lundin Petroleum holds a 15% stake and ConocoPhillips 20%.

BP doubles up on Savonette The Savonette field was

Columbus basin approxi- mately 80km off the south east coast of Trinidad. The well was drilled to a total depth of 18,678ft and penetrated hydrocarbon-bear- ing reservoirs in two intervals with discovered gas in place exceeding initial estimates.

discovered in 2004 by the Chachalaca exploration well and began production in 2009 through a normally un- manned platform built in Trinidad at TOFCO.

flowline, the first of its kind at this water depth. The flowline will trans-

port oil from the field to the BBLT (Benguela-Belize, Lo- bito-Tomboco) platform. Rod Christie, vice presi- dent of Subsea Systems, said, “West Africa is one of the world’s key hydrocarbon basins, and we are excited to

be working with Chevron Overseas Congo Limited as operator of the Lianzi proj- ect, the first cross-border de- velopment in the region. This contract win is not just an expansion of our relation- ship with Chevron. It repre- sents our product competitiveness in the global marketplace, ongoing com- mitment to the region and continued demand for our state-of-the-art technology solutions.”

Bøyla will be developed as a subsea tie-back to the Alvheim FPSO

proposing to drill a further two development wells into the Savonette reservoirs. The gas discovered

began production in Octo- ber 2012, with the Savonette 4 well currently flowing at approximately 225 MMcf/d of gas. .
