in 2003 by three students from Helsinki University of Technology. On 9th May this year, the company announced that its most popular product, the Angry Birds game, hit one billion downloads across all mobile formats, 25% of which were paid-for downloads.
INTERACTIVE APP LAUNCH UK erotica publisher Xcite Books is selling world rights to the first interactive Kama Sutra. Kama Xcitra is a spiral-bound book containing 69 illustrated positions combined with written descriptions and discreet diagrams. Readers can view the pages through the free smartphone and tablet apps, which accompany the book, and each image appears to pop out of the page “allowing the viewer to appreciate the position from all angles”.
TRILOGY TO MANTLE Mantle publisher Maria Rejt has acquired world English language rights through David Miller at Rogers, Coleridge & White in a crime trilogy written by Norwegian historian Hans Olav Lahlum. Rejt plans to publish all three titles in 2014.

LITTLE, BROWN ACQUISITIONS Little, Brown, publishing director Clare Smith has acquired UK and Commonwealth rights in a novel about a bereaved bookseller, The Collected Works of A J Fikry by US author Gabrielle Zevin. The deal was done through Doug Stewart at Sterling Lord, with Little, Brown winning on best bids. Virago editorial director Ursula Doyle pre-empted world rights in Never Mind Miss Fox by Olivia Glazebrook from Imogen Pelham at Aitken Alexander, describing the novel as “stunning and unsettling”.
