Technology: Casting the spotlight on performance and effi ciency
Caroline D’ay, managing director of Hot Frog Indicator, argues that employee resilience is a critical issue for the NHS – and there are new and smart ways to address it.
he NHS is under increasing pressure to deliver an effi cient, cost effective and caring service whilst simultaneously providing a motivating and rewarding environment for their professionals and staff: no pressure there then. But the truth is that, even in our high-tech world, determining the most cost-effective initiatives requires a level of accurate, up-to- date information that can be sadly lacking.

If your organisation is focused on taking the most cost-effective approaches and actions to improve performance then it’s essential you have the right management information quickly and accurately to hand. As Prime Minister James Callaghan said in 1976: “We start from where we are.”
Without this knowledge you could waste a fortune. With it, you can make solid decisions on where to focus efforts to create the greatest impact. And this is where technology can help.

Resilience is the life-blood of the NHS. A resilient workforce will be more engaged, more content, perform better and deliver greater effi ciency and productivity. Absenteeism will be lower as people are more motivated to come to work.
