One of the best things about Las Vegas as a meetings and entertainment destination is that it’s constantly changing. Here are some of the
new things that Convening Leaders attendees and other visitors will find there next month and throughout 2011.
Resorts The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, a new, 2,995-room casino-resort in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, will wel- come its first guests on Dec. 15. Situated on 8.7 acres, the property features two 50-story towers—each offering over- sized residential-style living space and expansive, one-of-a- kind private terraces—along with 150,000 square feet of meeting space.
Last December,MGMResorts International debuted a 67-acre, $8.4-billion “urban metropolis” called CityCenter. The development includes ARIA Resort & Casino, featuring Viva ELVIS by Cirque du Soleil, dining experiences by world- renowned chefs, and a luxurious spa; Vdara Hotel & Spa, an all-suite boutique hotel with a nongaming, smoke-free envi- ronment; and Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, a 47-story, nongaming hotel and residences featuring an exceptional spa and unique Sky Lobby. CityCenter offers 300,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space.
Shows Celine Dion has announced that she will return to Las Vegas next year to begin a three-year engagement at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Her brand-new show, centered on classic Hollywood movies and stunning visu- als, will premiere on March 15. The Estate of Michael Jackson and Cirque du Soleil have joined forces to create touring and perma- nent shows based on the music and songs of Michael Jackson. Viva ELVIS by Cirque du Soleil has opened at ARIA Resort & Casino at CityCenter.A harmonious fusion of
