In May 2012, the company has shipped its two billionth sensor and thus belongs amongst the world’s leading providers of semiconductor-based magnetic sensors and pressure sensors. Infineon believes itself to be the world market leader in sensors for example for pressure sensors used in side airbag systems and for magnetic sensors used for wheel speed measurement in anti-lock braking systems, enjoying market shares of around 50%.
Infineon Technologies is also supplying the security chips for Malaysia‘s new national electronic identity cards. Popularly known as 'MyKad', the new generation smart card features Infineon‘s SLE 78 security controller with Infineon’s award-winning ‘Integrity Guard’ security technology. Malaysia takes advantage of this new security technology combined with SOLID FLASH™ for fast deployment capability.
Koch Membrane Systems, Inc. (KMS) will display its innovative solutions to reduce, reuse, and recycle water and wastewater at Singapore International Water Week in July. KMS offers cost-effective, high-quality water treatment membranes and membrane filtration systems. The TARGA(R)II Hollow Fiber ultrafiltration system, the PURON(R) membrane bioreactor (MBR) system, and FLUID SYSTEMS(R) TFC(R) reverse osmosis (RO) systems are used in several large-scale initiatives in regions of the world such as China and Australia.
Kopin(R) Corporation (NASDAQ: KOPN) announced a breakthrough in shrinking the size of its color displays. By reducing the color dots to a mere 2.25 x 6.75µm, Kopin has achieved a full-color VGA display (640 x 480 resolution) in a 0.21” diagonal size, which is by far the smallest VGA color-filter liquid crystal display (LCD) in the world. Kopin showed an ultra-compact electronic viewfinder (EVF) containing the VGA display at the Society for Information Display 2012 Exhibition, in Boston, USA.
