in two different shapes: the trapezoidal version can accept three boards measuring 50, 60 and 65mm in width, while the rectangular style is designed to accommodate either four stan- dard 160 by 100mm boards or eight 160 by 60mm boards. As the cases are formed from aluminium extrusions, they can be specified in any practical length and in any quantity from a single unit upwards.
The enclosures are suitable for wall mounting, DIN-rail mounting or use as a desktop enclosure. They are ideal for accommo-
dating single-board computers or COM modules, for example in test and measurement, industrial, net- working or railway applications. Optimal heat dissipation is ensured by the large aluminium surface area, and the cases offer environmental protection to IP40. For users requiring an individual design, covers and front panels can be supplied with custom modifications such as cut-outs and screen printing.

A new series of patented door enclosures have been introduced by Hylec-APL. Manufactured by the company's UK based manu- facturing division, DE Controls, the robust enclosures feature IP65 protection, galvanised steel back plates and mounting brackets. The units are constructed from flameproof material and can be used in a wide variety of internal and external applications. The range of door enclosures

The new feed-throughs are available for circular and square panel cut-outs for inte- gration into industrial devices and switch cabinets.
A key feature of these new devices is their improved elec- tromagnetic compatibility. The category 6 performance of the RJ45 female module offers system reserves that are high enough to carry standard
Industrial Ethernet and also 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet signals. The RJ45 socket inserts have a 360° shield to increase elec- tromagnetic compatibility and ensure interference immunity for the transmission path. The feed-throughs allow easy fitting into devices and switch cabinets as well as retro- fitting existing housings. Door enclosures with safety lock
also includes door locks as stan- dard and meets protection and combustible standards IP65 and IK08. The robust construction makes them suitable for use in external environments, including locations where they will be exposed to salty sea air.
The enclosures have a wall thickness of between 3-3.5mm which provides a good level of protection from impact damage that is not catered for by other manufacturers designs.
There are eight sizes available with dimensions ranging from 200 by 300 by 130mm to 500 by 700 by 250mm; each comes with a pre-assembled galvanised steel back plate, wall mounting brackets and one or two locks. Hylec-APL
