special section Hampton A coastal treasure rich in history and amenities

On the edge of Southern Virginia, Hampton is a hidden historical gem — the city is the oldest continuous English-speaking settle- ment in North America — that will charm and delight meeting attendees. With the Hampton Roads harbor as a backdrop and a white canopy recalling a schooner at full sail, the Hampton Roads Convention Center is a striking reminder of the city’s four centuries of maritime history. Nautical accoutrements aside, the center’s flexible meeting space — from the 108,000-square-foot exhibition hall (divisible into three sections) to the grand ballroom, which can accommodate galas of

up to 2,000 guests — suits a variety of events. When the business of the day is done,

attendees have a plethora of dining, shop- ping, and entertainment options to choose from nearby. The Peninsula Town Center along with 1,800 hotel rooms are within walking distance of the convention center, which is also directly connected to a 295- room Embassy Suites hotel and adjacent to the 11,000-seat Hampton Coliseum arena. Additionally, more than 200 regional attrac- tions can be found within just a few minutes of the convention center.
