Celeb stylist and fashion advisor, Lorraine McCulloch, has set the style scene for many a famous face. Here she shares her wardrobe wisdom with you, highlighting common size and shape dilemas, and ways to work round them based on pieces she’s picked from the summer collection.
Heavy Hips
Go for tops that drape from above your bust, or empire line shapes that
flare from underneath. It’ll even up your midriff. Skirt and trouser wise, contrary to popular belief, you can think fitted, so long as you’ve got the top half right, i.e. the pieces you pick flair or fall to where your hips begin to widen. If you want to wear shorter summer
tops, always put with skirts or shorts that don’t cling to your hips. Also, definitely put anything with a side split on your wish-list to maximise figure freedom, and remember the flare of a bootcut works well to add balance at your base.
