I’m involved in the local prison ministry here in the tricity area of Richmond, where there are over 1,500 inmates in four jails. At some locations, I am able to supply Bibles directly to the inmates, and at others I supply them for the chaplains to administer as they have need. We purchase the Larger-Print KJV Bibles and also buy the Large-Print Free on the Inside Bibles. We’ve found that if the print is too small, inmates won’t read the Bibles. In addition, poor lighting and lack of education are often issues. We’ve just fi gured that if the large print helps the inmates, there’s no sense in purchasing a diff erent Bible that they won’t read anyway. I actually got involved in prison ministry way before I started helping supply Bibles. I got saved when I was 12 years old, and I remember reading Matthew 25:31-46 about the sheep and the goats, where Jesus says, ‘Whatever you did

for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” T at really convicted me.’ T en I read Hebrews 13:3: ‘Continue to remember those in prison as if you were

together with them in prison.’ Years later, I was invited by a chaplain to come to a jail and share some of what I was learning in evangelism. T at was the beginning of what has now been almost 30 years of prison ministry. I have the privilege of keeping track of a lot of people who have come to Christ since then. —Stephen Cameron, Richmond, VA
