WE feel that we are duty-bound to give props and big ups to as many burgeoning brands as we come across; especially if they’re on a DJ, clubbing tip.


Stephen Shotton is a creative St Martins graduate with a history in design and advertising. English Threads is his baby that he set up about six years ago. His is a simple rule of thumb to produce ‘quality, affordable, relevant, quirky and witty t-shirts’.

AIGLE is an outdoor French fashion company with a birth date that goes back to 1853. Yup, c’est vrai.


They’re mostly famous for their rather excellent rubber Wellington boots – which we will be giving a big plug to next month. However, it’s their lumberjack shirts that are currently giving us the goosebumps. Coming in a wide selection of colour-ways, made from 100% cotton and currently very high on our ‘list of things to wear’. Face it, they look great with a pair of jeans or chinos, and work well with sneakers or brogues. Big like.
